主讲人简介 | Song Wang（汪崧）教授，澳大利亚科廷大学（Curtin University）数学与统计系教授。1982年在武汉大学获得学士学位，1989年在爱尔兰都柏林圣三一学院（Trinity College Dublin）获得博士学位，曾在爱尔兰都柏林的高科技公司--Tritech有限公司工作，先后任澳大利亚新南威尔士大学，科廷科技大学和西澳大利亚大学教授。主要从事偏微分方程的数值解，数值优化和最优控制，金融衍生品定价模型的理论和数值算法等研究。在SIAM Journal of Optimization, SIAM Journal of Numerical Analysis, Numerische Mathmatik, Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, Reports on Progress in Physics, Journal of Computational Physics, Biomaterial, Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, Journal of Global Optimization等国际SCI知名杂志上发表学术论文150余篇。同时，汪教授还担任多个国际知名SCI杂志的主编，副主编以及编委。 | ||
讲座内容简介 | In this talk I will share with you my experience as a numerical analyst in the use of mathematical theory and computational techniques for solving differential equations and differential inequalities by presenting showcases of some computationally difficult problems in semiconductor device modelling, optimal feedback control and financial engineering. These problems are degenerate, singularly perturbed, non-smooth or high-dimensional so that straightforward applications of conventional, general-purpose numerical methods fail to yield accurate numerical solutions with reasonable computational costs. Dedicated numerical methods have to be designed for them. The design of such a numerical scheme requires a marriage of mathematical theory and computational techniques. I will give a brief introduction to some of the methods we have developed. These include penalty methods for differential variational inequalities and mesh-based/mesh-less methods for the discretization of partial differential equations, along with mesh adaption and domain decomposition techniques suitable for parallel computation. Both theoretical and numerical results will be discussed. | ||
澳大利亚科廷大学汪崧教授为我校师生作学术报告
为进一步推进学院国际化工作，加强国际学术合作和科研合作，11月22日，数理与统计学院邀请澳大利亚科廷大学汪崧教授为广大师生作了题为“Weapons of Maths Construction: how a combination of maths theory and algorithms conquers differential equation and differential inequalities”的学术报告。报告会由数理与统计学院院长王国强教授主持。
报告中，汪崧教授结合项目研究，从半导体器件的仿真与优化设计、最优反馈控制律设计、金融工程/精算数学中的数值方法三个方面详细介绍了如何利用数学理论和算法的结合求解不等式并构造最优解的过程。
通过本次讲座，广大师生对如何利用数学理论和算法求解实际问题有了更深刻的认识。
